Like every story starts...
Once upon a time there used to be this young man, named Rohan, 23 years old... He lived a comfortable life.. Worked at a well paying firm.. He had depressing friends.. He had seen his friends loose their parents, siblings, etc. He worked day and night to make his family happy.. he helped the poor and had a soft corner for those in need.. And so.. The supreme power came down and granted him one wish.. He said, "Make my family immortal!" The supreme power warned him but he didn't budge.. The wish was granted.
He grew older with time and did his family.. When it was time for someone to die.. The supreme power would lock them up in a room to survive.. One by One all the family members were locked inside and when it was rohan's turn.. He was asked to visit the room before he dies.. He went in and found out that he had trapped them... He saw his parents in the worst states.. Some had lost their eyesight, or the hearing sense.. Some had gone numb, Some mute.. Some had a broken organ.. Seeing such pain and disaster.. He pleaded to let them go!.. He saw the want to die in everyone's eyes.. He felt sorry for being so selfish.. for wanting them to live a life they dint want to live.. He pleaded and begged to the supreme power to let them go.. Everyone in the room prayed for DEATH!.. Have you ever heard of that? People praying for death..
Everyone has a limit.. Everyone is going to get over one or the other day.. Even we are.. Don't be scared of death.. Embrace it willingly..
And to people who are going to lose their near and dear ones.. Face it! Thats the only solution.. You cannot sit and cry all your life about your loss.. Get up and move on.. I aint saying that you should forget things.. But don't get stuck! Its easy to say.. But hard to put it in practice.. I know.. But do you see another way out? People who have gone have gone for the best.. And they have lived life as much as they wanted to.. So you don't need to feel so horrible about it.. Cause Nothing has happened to you.. your just crying and Feeling miserable cause your wanting that person.. You are being SO selfish.. You are crying because YOU need that person.. Grow out of this.. And soon you'll realize that death isn't that bad.. In fact, I'd say its not bad at all.. For people who don't respect the worth of their life and don't live it well.. Its a lesson and for people who live their life well and enjoy life completely.. They've had their share of enjoyment and now its the turn of death.. Life and death are two sides of the same coin.. You have to live with the fact in your life that this may end anytime.. So people, please enjoy your life and death too.. Give death a smiling face.. Because living in this cruel world forever isn't a job for mortals!
Grow up, Move on, Enjoy, Help.. Thats what we're here for... Thats what life is all about.. Love your Life Because Love is Life!

Prima facie, if I were Rohan I would have posed that one wish in the way-'Keep my family young for entire abyss of time', may be tactfully avoided the suffering.
'You are being SO selfish.. You are crying because YOU need that person'- We are social animals and it is in our nature, so I won't say it as selfish, its an instinct imbibed in us.
In fact kanchan, you have written a very interesting topic which is truly debatable. After reading this article, a person will definitely debate on many of the thoughts expressed. Good going,makes the brain work! (However I am not fully convinced with the title)
Explanation:-
We are being selfish because we want them to be with us.. If they have to die.. They don't need the world anymore.. which includes us! They've had their share of love and wisdom.. You wanna keep them alive because you r so used to them around u.. They comfort you.. and if we are social animals.. I'd say social animals are selfish anyway cause they need the society for themselves..
And about you not being convinced about the title.. if it isn't beautiful then why is it happening to everyone.. good or bad.. and why is the power high up there doing some thing that isn't beautiful to everyone?? its the way we die that makes us feel that death is bad or unpleasant.. i think death is beautiful because it is something everyone deserves like a beautiful life.. and people who die in a terrifying way, its their deeds in life that make it unpleasant.. death isn't unpleasant in itself!!

Yeah I agree social animals are selfish but that's the way of life.. when someone near passes away unexpectedly at a young age, you cannot pacify yourself thinking that he/she had his/her share of life. Trying not to be selfish in this respect is like renouncing the world. May be we Indians are too emotional and that's the practicality.
N ur title is justifiable by the logic u gave :) Great going. keep writing such articles!!
Thats why i mentioned in the article that the way we die makes death unpleasant.. if someone dies at a younger age its because of his deeds.. not because he's had his share.. i have justified both sides of life.. now what do u say?? isn't this practical...:)?

As for Gourav's comment, dude I respect ur opinion and perception, but why wud u want ur family members or anyone for that matter to remain young and healthy always? Shocking isn't it... U will think this guy is nuts why wudn't I?
BECAUSE BY DOING SO U WILL stagnate their LEVEL of EXISTENCE???
Look as per my belief Death is comparable to the SUMMER VACATIONS we had in school.... They were the period of Hiatus between where we stand & our graduation to a higher level..... It was the resting period wherein we cud evaluate all the experiences, things we learnt, mistakes we made, gud times & bad ones... The time to set new goals and think abt ways to attaining them... In short we all need time off after accomplishing something.....
Life is more like that we come in, learn things have varied experiences, go thru good phases and challenging times, learn to love, hate, respect, smile, cry, WE MAKE MISTAKES that cannot be undone , learn abt suffering thru illness, loss of near and dear ones, times of adversity, etc.
Then we die to be reborn, but the learning process is never over so in the next life we already have our plethora of experiences burried deep down in our subconscious, but we need to experience new things learn more, reflect on our mistakes of the previous lives and try not to repeat them this time around....
LIKE THIS THE CYCLES OF LEARNING, ERRING, GAINING, LOSING, GRADUATING keeps on & on TILL WE transform into what is called the HIGHEST LEVEL OF consciousness....
THIS IS MY TAKE ON THE CYCLE OF LIFE...

I agree with you to quite an extent vishal. In fact, somewhere down the line it is reality to learn and grow.. its a process.. and we shouldn't interfere in the natural cycle of life and death.. All we can do is learn to enjoy and face it if in bad times!! Good to know someone thinks like u!
